He was born in London, and raised by a loving family with two younger brothers and three sisters. After living a colourful life he reached a turning point and realised the world was not enough. His journey from a Criminal to a Christian, from Islam to Christianity begun, he realised Christ was the missing part his life. He encountered Christ in 1999, and finally discovered his purpose.
Things started to change as he begun to live for Christ and serve God, as he discovered integrity and the ability to live a purpose driven life. After serving for 3 years at a 4 thousand members plus church (one of the largest churches in London at the time) as an usher, in the follow up team, evangelism team, and a counsellor, he went through a major test which put him into depression.
During this major test at the church he attended his best friend who was as close to him as his biological brother died. He found it very hard to handle this, as he had not lost anyone that close to him before. In the midst of all this he tried to quit fellowship and Church altogether, but God had a plan and the plan was for him to go to the next level and forgive! In the midst of depression for about 6 months after church hopping he found a new church which he made his home which Pastor Alwyn Wall became his new pastor at that time.
Pastor Alwyn instantly noticed the call on his life this was 2002, and said these words he would never forget "to whom much is given much is required." You have a great call on your life.
Then progress came rapidly, after that he started to grow more spiritually in the things of God and in the process he begun to go to Bible school. Doors started to open as he forgave people that hurt him and realised that it was all to take him to the next level spiritually, physically, and mentally. Shortly after he was going to church to church across London to preach as an evangelist, he was head hunted to be a Pastor at a North West London Church. He informed his Pastor, (Pastor Alwyn about this) and he said the most shocking thing to him, which was to go and fulfil the call, and assuring him that he had his support. He did not realise it then but he does now that Pastor Alwyn realised that God had called him and he understood the call. After a 2 year process of serving at the church as a Youth Pastor he knew that God was getting ready to move him forward into the fullness of what he had called him to do.
However he had a fear factor of the office 'PASTOR' and letting people down although he had been doing it for 2 years.
When he moved to Luton the Spirit of God gave him Agape as the church name, which is pronounced AHGAHPAY a Greek word for Unconditional Love or A God type of Love. And Pastor Johnson started the church spring 2006. Pastor Johnson has a daughter and a son Amariah Johnson and Isaac Johnson. Now that he has a greater conviction than he had before about the role of a Pastor, many people and some Pastors have said the Title is not important. Well it is important as many Pastors are casual about this role like Pastor Johnson used to be, the title is also there for order, it is not to be taken casually.
It is a statement and title of a representative (Servant of God) it is like a rank as a Soldier, we are all soldiers for Christ but have different ranks, which is MINISTRY meaning DEPARTMENT meaning FUNCTION the Bible says we are the BODY of CHRIST but have different Functions. Being a Pastor now is what Pastor Johnson stands for it is what he represents although we know there is a balance and in different environments and gatherings he is sensitive in the way he portrays himself. But overall he is a Pastor (Servant for everyone) As a Pastor you must be a Pastor for everyone. And that is what Pastor Johnson stands for! Jesus Christ was the greatest Pastor and up to the age of 33 he lead people old and young and yes he was all things to all men! People recognised his office as the LORD, TEACHER, RABBI, CHRIST, MESSIAH (Chosen one Anointed One).
